How to choose a pickleball paddle?
The following specifications are for reference only:
1. Pickleball Paddle material
The material of the racket surface affects friction, which is related to ball control and hitting accuracy. Racket surface materials include fiberglass, Kevlar, graphite fiber, carbon fiber, etc. Currently, professional rackets mostly use carbon fiber surfaces, while beginners can choose fiberglass.
2. Racket thickness:
From the perspective of professional players worldwide, the thickness is basically either 14MM or 16MM. 14MM offers lower wind resistance, lighter and faster play, and stronger elasticity; while 16MM provides a more stable core, softer feel, and smoother performance.
3. Racket weight
The heavier the racket, the greater the power, but it is prone to fatigue. Women choose lighter rackets, weighing less than 220 grams, to prevent fatigue. Players with strong strength can choose rackets weighing 230 grams or more.
4. Racket face size
The larger the racket face, the larger the sweet spot and the higher the margin of error, making it suitable for beginners and control players. The smaller the racket face, the longer the handle, the smaller the sweet spot, and the lighter the speed. The longer the racket, the wider the striking range and the greater the power, making it suitable for offensive players.
5. Handle thickness
The handle affects the grip feel, and everyone's palm size is different. If it's too thick, it will affect the flexible control of the racket angle. Therefore, it is necessary to try multiple handles to compare which one is more suitable for oneself.
There is no best racket, only the one that suits you best!
